An innocent guy framed. A case closed. A serial killer unfastened to kill again.

It is 1985. Detective Inspector Mungo ‘Bob’ Willis is being forced out of Avon and Somerset Police on medical grounds. His career is in tatters, his frame broken, his thoughts shattered, and his associate―DS Lizzie Harper―useless in a sting operation long past wrong.

Their closing case is closed, but Bob is convinced an harmless guy has been framed, leaving a serial killer cruising the A303 with impunity, loose to goal lone women who have broken down with the aid of the roadside past due at night.

The killer knows the police aren’t seeking out anyone else in connection with the murders. What they don’t recognize is what Bob will do next.

And whilst some other woman is killed in horrifyingly similar instances, Bob launches his own―unofficial―research. Can he prevent a sadistic killer before they kill once more? And again…
